How To Improve Acting Skills At Home

by Roger on -

Just as people say ‘there is more than one way to skin a cat’, there are indeed many ways of reaching a desired goal in life. Every actor has a goal he/she intends to reach and works towards on a daily basis. To be a successful actor you need to be determined and courageous in equal measures. However, your courage and determination should be directed towards the right direction.

Many actors tend to focus their energy into learning the acting formula of successful actors like Brad Pitt. As I said before there are many avenues to fulfill your dream in acting. Every actor is unique with a unique personality, energy and presence, therefore, there can be no single acting formula for every actor. The best acting formula is the one that you create for yourself as you grow your skills. In my 35 years in acting and directing, I have gained insights into the world of successful acting and one thing that is clear to me is that there is no simple formula to acting. The most successful actors have actually been able to create, revise, expand and grow their own formula throughout their acting careers. The only valid acting formula you can use in acting is therefore the one that you create and own for yourself. Acting is “doing” and you must do it with your own unique personality and process to coming into play. By applying the fundamentals of acting then coupling that with your own process, you will be unstoppable in the acting industry. It is by discovering yourself and using that to build on your own acting formula that you can actually improve your quality of believability in diverse roles. By creating and embracing your unique style will definitely make you a stand out which in turn can enable you to fulfill your acting goals .
Many people come to me to ask how they can develop their own acting formula so that they can penetrate and soar in the acting industry. Today’s young actors and those who want to follow their acting dream have the same curiosities as I had when I was a beginner in the industry. It is for this reason that I put together my expertise and experience into developing a course dubbed ‘The Acting Formula 101′. Please do not get mislead by the title of the course, I will not be putting you through some “proven” formula of success, only fundamentals that will lead you in the direction of discovering your own. Developing and mastering your own acting formula will enable you to grasp the valid fundamentals of acting, including developing skills for creating different characters. The course will also include exercises to sharpen your acting skills. I will also be sharing my insights and reflection based on more than 35 years of experience in acting and directing. One great advantage is that you can learn how to improve acting skills at home at your own pace. This course could truly be what you need to move to the next level in your acting career.  The sooner you start developing your personalized acting
formula, the sooner you will start enjoying your unique successful acting career. Don’t be hesitant, be assertive and start your acting journey now, success is awaiting you!

Finding a play that has a part you like, that you see yourself playing, is a good place to start. Start practicing that part as if you are going to open in it in six weeks time, which is a standard theater schedule. May I suggest you try my Acting Formula 101 Basic & Basic Plus Bundle which is full of exercises that might help!
