For centuries now, conventional medicine has stood steadfast against the use of natural supplements.  That’s why it gives us such a warm and fuzzy feeling to finally be able to report that things are changing. We’re finally achieving a balance in healthcare – even among some of the top orthopedic specialists.  How do we know this is true?  Because some of them are recommending that their patients take glucosamine chondroitin supplements after surgery.  Has integrative medicine finally arrived?

Some point out that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not regulate glucosamine chondroitin.  To be fair, though, most also mention that the FDA “tentatively” agrees that glucosamine chondroitin is able to “significantly reduce pain in patients with moderate-to-severe osteoarthritis of the knee.”  Let’s take our blessings wherever they occur, shall we?
